Molluscum contagiosum

Common viral skin infection of children – perfect, umbilicated papules, take a few months to disappear.

Not usually a problem but can be very widespread and can trigger a dermatitis.

Treatment is trickly – you can get Cryotherapy or curettage but might scar.

Antiseptics such as hydrogen peroxide cream or povidone iodine solution may help.

Podophyllotoxin cream? Wart treatments (salicylic acid)?

If actually inflamed, treat in the usual way with mild topical topical corticosteroids.
